I remember watching football matches on TV in my uncle's house, a long time ago - maybe when I was still in elementary school. It was an Italian football match. They wore black and white stripes jersey. It was Juventus. I also remember my uncle asked me for "lucky numbers" a few times. As far as I can remember, that was the first time I know the term "football".
A few years later, I met this friend, Angela. She was a football fan. She adored Liverpool. She then introduced me to English Premiere League and Liverpool.
It was 2006, the year of FIFA World Cup -- which I always watch -- when I first noticed Steven Gerrard. I forgot which match was it but I did remember his (later I knew as) signature kick: the cannon ball. That time, I was awed by his performance. I adored him instantly. I watched his matches, including his club's matches. Got to know more about the club, my journey as a fan girl began.
Long story short, even though many of my favorite Liverpool players have left the club and the club has a downfall in recent years, I couldn't betray the club. Liverpool is still my favorite football club. The fans are loyalist. They are one of the best (or maybe the best) fanbase in the whole world.
And I've finally saw it with my own eyes when Liverpool visit Jakarta for LFC Tour 2013 in Stadium Gelora Bung Karno. It was.. Amazing. The fans were amazing. They were passionate. They love the club so much. They gave their 110%. They prepared every single detail to welcome their favorite club. They told Liverpool, "Welcome to your second home". And I am so happy because I am a part of it, to witness all of it.
